Hey, how did you get your blog to be so popular bro?
Probably by not being a bro?
haha but really, I honestly can't give you a straight answer, because I'm not so sure myself. I'm just trying to share what I know, and find interesting, by providing relevant, useful, and educational [scientific] information to help inspire and educate who ever finds it thought provoking. And that just so happens to be a bunch more people than I expected, which is a continually growing audience!
As a fellow "information" based blogger I know it can be hard trying to keep people's attention, especially if they don't fully understand the vocab you're using and/or the concepts you're discussing. Because of this I find it useful to beat a dead horse by letting my readers know that if they need help with anything they don't understand concerning what I'm posting/reblogging, that I will non-judgmentally try to the best of my ability to help them acquire the answers they seek. The more you offer to help people understand the basics of what you're trying to show them, the more they'll be interested, especially if they know they have a slightly more knowledgable person lending a hand that they can rely on. The best part of that [in my opinion] is you can't possibly know everything your whole audience wants to know, so you in turn, have to educate yourself further in certain fields to educate others. As "they say", teaching is best form of learning.
And as a last note, always provide sources and/or links concerning your individual post's topic. This way if people want to learn more or don't understand and are too sheepish to ask someone to explain, they can go to the link and read more reliable and related information. If there's one thing I've learned over this past year of starting this blog, it's that many people refuse to google things [and sometimes don't know how to properly], so you have to make things easily accessible by providing useful sources and possibly even additional topic-related links yourself manually.
And of course, always try to be polite and open minded when talking and/or helping one of your readers, that's just common courtesy, I think. [Even if they're mean, there's no use to waste negative energy on people who are, themselves, drowning in negativity. Just be polite and move on.]
I hope this helps you out some, cheers!
