I’m just gonna take it in my own rpf enjoyer take kinda way and say LN is just possessive of max. The viewers don’t count because that’s him getting to shove into thousands of people’s faces how ~special~ they are to each other and it’s their bonding time and getting to tease max a bit. Works better with an audience. That’s HIS best friend and if he says it’s just the two of them then max listens.
yess if we put the rpf lens on it, there's SO much to unpack in the way lando has non-negotiable priority on max's time. he knows it, they both know, literally everyone knows. it's not a secret, like you say, it's openly on display. lando gets what he wants, and what he wants is to put max up on stage, point a light at him, invite an audience, and then play around with him in front of everyone. he's showing him off and strengthening the association between them every time, and like... at a certain point of fame, there's something so exhibitionist to me about streaming what could very easily be your private gaming time with your friend. but no, he wants chat there too. he wants them to see and stay for max, because he loves him and thinks everyone else should too (just as long as he still gets priority over max's attention when he wants it). he's possessive, but he wants everyone to know the value of what's his 😌
