#Repost @primaryandsecondary with @repostapp ・・・ #Repost @warriorpoetsociety ・・・ There are many reasons why shooters miss. For me, I'm either shooting faster than I'm able, I have bad trigger control, or I'm anticipating the shot. I used to run toward 'trigger control' as the main reason why newer shooters miss (and oftentimes experienced shooters as well), but I believe now that trigger control is likely a symptom and not the cause. The cause is anticipation of the shot. As evidence to the theory, consider: I supervise shooters dry firing with wonderful trigger control...only to load up live rounds and pull the trigger differently than they just were during dry fire. What changed? A psychological preoccupation with the trauma of the shot. The shooter was a bit punked out by the little explosion about to happen in their hands and so they jerked a trigger and pushed a gun to quickly ease the anxiety and get it over with. Now pop quiz: I have given you the problem, what can we do to overcome this? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Hey folks, I'm full-time Warrior Poet Society now, teaching classes all over the U.S. Visit http://warriorpoetsociety.us to sign up for classes (or follow link in my profile).
