#boycott loblaws

FYI, the group behind the Loblaws boycott in Canada has extended their boycott indefinitely. Loblaws profiteered like crazy (record profits) over the pandemic raising food prices while our foodbanks here are seeing record use. 1 in 5 Canadians now face food insecurity.

Found this article about loblaw owned stores and wanted to comment but didn't want to sign up just to post so here it is.

My regular experience with the local store is exactly what I said above, there's nothing preventing shoplifters from just walking out so what's the argument here?

Just this afternoon a group of 5-6 teens ran out the entrance with their arms full of random food like chips or sushi.

I understand people's standpoint for those in desperate need and taking baby formula and whatnot but that's not the norm around here, it's more often than not those who come in and grab whatever they can and run out doesn't matter if it's a rotisserie chicken or a pack of sushi from the deli or a bag full of clothes they pulled of the rack or whatever random thing fits in their jacket.

Many times it kids running into the liquor store and grabbing a bottle of vodka and running out to drink it in the parking lot.

They say that the barriers and other things are for the safety of staff and customers but they do nothing. It's just for show.
