hmmm i've always had trouble putting it into words but i've always disliked DNI's because imo if you have to state certain groups are unwelcome on your blog, why wouldn't your blog be able to easily express those people are unwanted on your blog without words? i'm p sure no terfs are gonna like my stuff because i'm always drawing trans people and although i don't post my fully oc stuff here compared to insta i have a feeling the types of people and relationships i am going to post and draw deter those i don't like. it's why anti darkship profic (all terms i despise as well as the inverses) have never made sense because anybody scrolling through my blog who insists on all ships having a small age gap and perfectly healthy is NOT gonna fw me. have you SEEN the nsfw i draw?
it's why DNI's feel less like an actual thing you believe and more a performance inside of a community that likes to seperate themselves into groups and less of an actual belief you hold. only making me believe this more is that nobody fucking listens to DNI's. on insta i can see who follows who and i've seen the same ppl follow accounts that post heavy dubcon bdsm follow people that post 24/7 erm unfollow me if you like any ship w 'problematic' aspects type of stuff
idk. i find all of it extremely silly. terfs will never follow me because my content is inherently against that and if you have to constantly specify that a certain group of people shouldn't follow you then i feel like you should consider WHY so many people in that group follow you and examine if any of your content agrees with their ideals.
and yeah of course people you don't like are gonna follow you it happens, but you'll deal and if it's such a problem then idk!!! think about why those people feel safe engaging with your content. all that space in your bio could be used for promotion or pronouns or silly bits or warnings or links to what your selling don't waste it
