Like let’s say some mysterious magic item or technique hits Ranma and it splits him into his gut half and girl half. I call it the Yin-Yang separation.

Now Ranma(boy) is thrilled, because he is now 100% man again. Ranma(boy) is basically Ranma without his emotional maturity, his emotional expression, joy, sensitivity , even his care for others is suppressed. But now all Ego and manly.

Akane absolutely can’t stand Ranma(boy) because he is the worst version of Ranma to her.

Ranma(girl) is Ranma’s emotional core and also totally has all the love and care he has for others.

Interestingly both sides are actually happy with the shake out. Ranma(girl) no longer has Ranma’s arrogance and Ego and is perfectly fine being a girl, the pressure of being a martial arts heir, the hard work, She can just live a normal life.

Interestingly Ranma(girl) can confess to Akane as she can say what Ranma struggled to say.

Though both halves realize that without their other half, they aren’t complete. Ranma (boy) can’t access his Ki and while physically strong, his flexibility and versatile martial arts he has is limited greatly. Also he lacks his creative thinking, which is what made him a great fighter. So he’s limited, something Ryoga points out.

Meanwhile Ranma(girl) lacks her focus and determination, she also has fears and insecurities that flood her mind.

Ranma(boy) arrogance and Ranma(girl) fear are going against merging back. But it’s only when the threat comes to the dojo and Akane is in danger.

With Ranma(girl) pointing out that Ranma(boy) can’t win a fight without her and she can’t save the ones she loves without his strength and determination.

The two merge and save the day. Ranma learning that he is actually a really balanced person and that his traits have good and bad to them.

Also Akane blushing when Ranma(girl) would say she loves her would prove the Bi headcanons we all thought.

早乙女乱馬 Saotome Ranma ♂ - Ranma 1/2

The remake dude Ranma deserves a feature too! This is his orignal form but having a genderfluid (?) main character is pretty cool.

For me, the 1/2 also stands for being half of the tsundere x tsundere dynamic they have with Akane. His shyness is also very cute.
