creative process:

the silly warmup to start

Mallow was looking for something cozy for this comm, I suggested a at-home activity, like gaming on a beanbag

they liked the idea! so I asked for some more ideas for details (leading to the plushies, all of which she owns)

the lil' dedenne plush isn't actually that lil' IRL, so that got bigger

and after that it was smooth gaming

bonus: two little doodles of pretzel I made prior to the commission

Creative Process:

For ref I got art from a wide range of artists, so I picked my favorite bits and stylings from each and got this as the warmup doodle

according to him, I nailed it with her design c^^

ended up also landing on a good pose with the first sketch too, so I ended up moving to lineart soon after

while on the lineart, I decided to have only one arm hold the hammer while her other arm did something else, it took me a bit to land on something that I was happy with (my first few ideas had her arm resting on the legs)

after that it was smooth sailing

this comic was based on a older piece from 2022

making of: another one where I decided to just jump straight into the piece, I've drawn Daro's blorbos plenty already

not exactly a deconstrution or timelapse but I think it would be neat to share these isolations

Creative Process: before any warmups I had already made a mspaint draft of the pose when brainstorming what the comm would look like, which the final piece ended up staying very close to

then we got the warmup

and we move right into the render

the ball Luka Kalu balances on was initially a lot bigger, I ended up shrinking it so that she took more of frame

Winowa suggested changing the face to have more of a mischievous look, after I made the edit though, fae ended up preferring the original face more

Luka Kalu is part of a campaign Winowa plays with a group, so we thought of the balls she juggles being based of the other p\arty members

the final pic only alludes to them in color and patterns but I did sketch the OCs in ball form initially

fae wasn't sure of it at the time so we went with the patterns instead
