I don't know why there's this THING that happens in archery about pulling the heaviest weight. Like, good for you, you can shoot a 80#, but how many times can you shoot it before your arms are shaking and muscles are crying? Is it worth it to sacrifice your form just to say you can shoot a heavy bow?
I recently dropped from a 35 to a 30 to a 25 and I'm SO GLAD that I did. I can plink arrows all day with this thing and still know that I'm strong enough for my 35# but I don't have to strain my muscles and rotator cuff when I'm shooting upwards of 100 arrows per practice. As a horse archer I don't have to worry about distance, rather how fast I can get to full draw before next target. I can save my muscles for running extra courses, teaching students, or handling unruly horses.
Don't think that just because I don't pull a 40# (anymore) that I can't outshoot you.
I recently purchased a 35# Nomad horsebow from @alibow_2003 and while the draw is a bit hard on a jacked up shoulder it really doesn’t even feel as much as my 30#; it’s snappy, smooth, and just the right size ❤ . . . #horsebow #archerygirl #offtoworkigo https://www.instagram.com/p/BtwjpLDBJtQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kurkd0oio81l
This is Germs
This dumbass (I say that fondly) pinched a nerve a couple days ago and not only scared the bejesus out of me, but also cost me almost $150 in vet bills for them to tell me to take him home and just keep him quiet. My husband also earned himself a $200 speeding ticket in November that we we've making payments on.
Ordinarily this wouldn't be a huge dent in my wallet but my husband quit his job a couple months ago and hasnt been able to find another one. We're lucky enough to rent a house from my mom, who has exchanged labor for a couple hundred taken off our rent, but we still owe about $500 (which will be taken out of my next check). I mostly have our budget taken care of but $350 is quite a chunk and i'll be needing diesel and hay soon as well as groceries that my diabetic husband can eat; I can survive a few weeks off top ramen if needed but he can't.
I'm not asking for handouts and believe in the rewards of a job well done so I'm hoping any followers that read this are able to pass it on if not help directly:
I'm selling custom hand-tooled and sewn quivers and other archery gear (bracers/armguards, thumb rings, head bands) for $5-60
And art commissions starting at $10-digital or traditional, human or an attempt at most animals.
With holidays coming and going, I can draw characters for your book or tabletop RP or make things for your archery/LARP/renaissance faire needs. I'm willing to try my hand at anything and will be honest and fair if it proves to be a challenge.
Thank you for your time in reading this. I'll be looking forward to some good news!
They work alright 👍

I was given a dozen four fletch arrows that I'm DYING to try out tomorrow.
The helicopter/flared nocks are interesting. I havent used that style in literally a year
I spent the last hour taking care of my bows; checking knock points, waxing strings, readjusting silencers, and finally running through a test shoot with both the Ming and Tatar. My knock point on the Ming had bumped its knock point up about a half inch and the Tatar was WAY off....almost a whole inch!
Shot about two dozen arrows off of each one and I'm happy with the results. Just in time for the clinic with Mihai on Sunday!
The only pig I've ever loved
I would have gotten better results with my competition arrows BUT I didnt want to lose any and eventually my practice arrows and I came to an understanding. Havent shot since faire but Wilbur didnt mind! Tried different heights, angles, added him to my walking 15 arrow field course, then finally stood still and got these shots in...after a few attempts. Stopped at 4 arrows in this spot cause I dont need more sacrifices to the archery gods today.
5 yards, 30# Crimean horse bow, assorted arrows (250-400 spine, 30 inch)
