[She's there beside you, but not attempting to make contact of any kind, until...]
There's a reason I kept trying to rip you out of her, you know. I just didn't think that Connie should have to suffer because you wanted to be that close to someone else.
[She turns to you, resting an elbow up against the fryer.]
You and her can still be friends. I'm still like this, even without any other soul inside of me, well, aside from the entity, of course, but before then, I was still like this. Contrarian suffered, thinking you were dead. And when he learned that you could return but didn't, he had a mental breakdown. He rejected his feelings because he thought that you wanted to stay inside of her. He didn't want anyone else's help because of it.
[She straightens, standing straight with her arms crossed.]
If you want to help someone, especially in a situation like ours, then you can do it without hurting those you love. What you did was cruel, and I can't forgive you for that. You need to accept that your actions have consequences. Both of you do. And I know you're guilty about it already, but guilt doesn't help anyone. You need to do something aside from antagonizing yourself.

*it doesn't look at her. how can it?*
*it knows it is cruel. it knows it hurt them.*
*its mistake was in thinking it could do anything else.*
