Bossk was first released in 1980 for the first wave of the Empire Strikes Back toys from Kenner, and its cardiac debut was on the 31A backs in the USA and the 30A backs for Palitoy. This figure would also get released on the Return of the Jedi cardbacks, but not for the Power of the Force. It comes with the unique blue Bossk Blaster Rifle.Β
One of the most famous variants for Bossk is the βToxicβ limbs variant from the Kader/Poch factory, where the limbs are a very bright green. The price for this variant is very high, commanding thousands of dollars for a near mint example.Β

Bossk's outfit was actually recycled from a 1966 Doctor Who serial titled The Tenth Planet. The suit itself was actually a High-Altitude Windak Pressure Suit, a suit used by the British Royal Air Force in the 1960s.Β
