What ending sounds better for an emotional, romantic, fantasy story?
Goddess returns home, leaving her lover, friends, and experiences behind*
Goddess staying with mortals, sacrificing immortality & divine connections*
I would like to hear what others think as i write my story between a fallen goddess and her mortal dwarf.
*More context:
The fallen goddess, Leanna, must make a choice after fulfilling her purpose and the only reason she is even in the mortal realm, (a rare occurrence). Along her journey, she grew attached to mortals and nature that flourishes with no divine touch. She discovered love beyond familial.
- If Leanna returns home to her divine realm, Vandellor, she will most likely not return, leaving her mortal protector Boru and their deep love to be just a memory. She will grow depressed and become muted. Boru, healed by her, will walk Amoura alone, lacking any blood family despite some friends that may occasionally keep him company. Leanna will have her divine kin and creations, but new laws will limit communication between realms, so she will be but a whisper of wind for Boru. However, the world is safe and ready to rebuild, which Boru would spend his life doing to distract himself. (Tragic)
- If Leanna stays in the mortal realm, Amoura, she will lose her immortality and connections with her mother and Vandellor, including being able to use her divine creativity to form visually appealing nature environments (skies and foliage) with her mother. An activity they often bonded over. She may suffer with more sensitivity to illnesses and lethargy, but will still have a life with Boru and be surrounded by the nature she loves so much. The world will still be safe and they would help rebuild together. (Bittersweet)
Thank you for humoring me!! I appreciate your input ♡
