(miscellaneous) 'borrower' things to make your characters more interesting:
ā;; They always smell the food before eating it, maybe wary it could be poisonous, maybe out of custom.
ā;; They are very gestual and use their hands, but don't speak much.
ā;; Their clothes have multiple patches or stitches, as they have been fixed and resized to no end.
ā;; They instinctually tap the walls or the floor to check if they're hollow, almost as if unconsciously looking for a safe place.
ā;; Their ears twitch when they hear an interesting noise, but they flinch at loud noise.
ā;; They remember the scent of their loved ones, and are able to 'track' them or know if something's wrong.
ā;; They sleep fully dressed, almost as if prepared to run the next morning.
ā;; Sharpening their knives or tools as a relaxing hobby.
ā;; They prefer to sit or sleep with their back against something, leaving no room to get surprised from behind.
