raised in foster care, her father was never in the picture and her mother tried to raise her despite not wanting a child but ended up walking away when raleigh was eight because she just couldn’t do it anymore and she didn’t have the money to raise her

always tried her best in foster homes, but no one ever wanted to adopt her because they all wanted younger kids and thought she’d be too damaged - got moved around a lot

actually took it pretty hard and became convinced that she was just unlovable and just accepted that she’d never have a family

in one of her foster homes, and the one she stayed in the longest, she met the boy (lets name him alex, just for ease) who would become her best friend and the only person she’s ever been able to call her family

she did pretty well in school, didn’t really shine in anything particular, but she got decent grades. she knew she couldn’t afford any higher education though, so as soon as she could, raleigh started doing odd jobs, like helping the old lady down the street, or scooping ice cream at a nearby ice cream parlor over the summer, just so she could make enough money to live comfortably enough

at seventeen, she met the boy that she was pretty sure she would be with for the rest of her life. he was three years older than her, but he was nice and he told her he loved her and was always there when she needed him, so she was head over heels in love with him and would do anything for him

alex didn’t like him. not one bit, and he was very vocal and clear about it, but raleigh didn’t care and so she didn’t listen

as soon as she was eighteen and had to leave the foster care system, raleigh went to live her boyfriend and that’s when things started going south

it was good for a little while, perfect even, but then little things started happening. just him getting angry when she got home late, accusing her of cheating on him with alex and naming her all kinds of things. he always apologised though, and things would always get better for a little while.

then it got worse, a lot worse. the yelling and accusations happend more often and then he started hurting her, especially after he’d had a bit to drink

she blamed herself though and she never told anyone. even if others would see her marks, she’d just make an excuse and due to her clumsiness, people wouldn’t question her word

alex was suspicious though and eventually managed to it out of her and then convinced her to leave her boyfriend

after the break-up, raleigh found herself in a bit of a rut and didn’t really know what to do - the reason behind the break-up isn’t common knowledge though, alex is the only one who knows the truth

wanting to cheer her up, alex decided to bring raleigh along on his bachelor party in las vegas, much to the dismay of his friends but since raleigh was his best man (he had to do some convincing to get her to agree to that function at his wedding) and the fact that he was the groom in question, the others really didn’t get much say in it nor did they get to flirt with her or get handsy - groom’s rule

she got dragged around to everything, drank along with everything and that’s how she ended up at a fight where she met elijah and somehow ended up marrying him that same night - which she doesn’t exactly remember, thinks of it more as a dream, but she still has the ring nonetheless

born katherine trémaux in new york city, kate is the daughter of french parents who picked up their life in paris to move to the united states to raise a family. she’s the eldest of three children, she has a younger sister and brother, and is incredibly close with them, as well as her parents. her family has always been an important part of her life, they mean everything to her and would do anything for them.

her father was a stock broker and her mother, a socialite, which meant the family always had enough money, and that got them and their children to higher places in life, though, kate didn’t always need the help due to her intelligence that got her to harvard to study law. she graduated at the top of her class with donors, and the school was where she met the man who would eventually be her first husband. they fell in love quickly and got married after 4 years of dating. they had no children, and had no plans for any, as they were both far too focused on their careers to start a family.

it was later in their marriage when she began an affair with a friend of theirs, erik westin, who was married at the time too. they were involved for over a year before they left their spouses from each other upon finding out kate was pregnant with their first child.

she and erik are now married, and have two young daughters, annaliese, who is four, and lily who is one year old. she is in love with erik, but knows he still has a wandering eye, which makes her feel insecure and incredibly jealous. she has a very jealous nature, which she can’t really control, though, she would probably sleep with someone else if she found out her husband did the same, just to spite him. their relationship isn’t traditional by any means, and some would even call it toxic, in a way.

kate works at an elite law firm in manhattan as a criminal defence lawyer. she’s been the attorney for some of the worst criminals you can think of and she’s really good at her job. she’s in the slow process of starting her own firm and already has some big names backing her and joining the team, so it will definitely go smoothly.

kate’s personality is very aloof. she isn’t the friendliest person you’ll ever meet, but she can be very charming when she needs to be. if she thinks you’re worthy of it, she will be as sweet as can be, but she really is, for lack of better words, a bitch.

born and raised in queens, and even though she’s love to leave, she’s pretty sure she never will

with her mom’s number one priority being drugs, her dad having ran off as soon as he could and dash getting in trouble all the time and going to juvie and such, she learned how to take care of herself at a pretty young age

she knew she needed to make something of herself, there was no way she was going to let herself end up like her mom - so she spent most of her childhood focused on studying

due to spending all of her free time on either more studying or working all kinds of odd jobs so she could save up for uni, imogen didn’t have that many friends and has no one she’d consider a best friend

managed to go to uni on a full scholarship, but there were still a shitton of other expenses, so between uni work and a bunch of odd jobs she worked her ass off but it was all worth it bc she ended up graduating with honors and going on the track she wanted

despite the fact that he was absent a lot, imogen didn’t recognize that dash tried his best to be there for her and she does appreciate how he always made sure that no matter what, her education wouldn’t suffer due to a lack of money

as much as she loves him and is rather close with him, she’d be lying if she said she didn’t resent him at least a bit - she’d fully aware that she grew up too fast and that she didn’t really enjoy her life that much bc she was always too focused on the future

a surgical resident in a big hospital (don’t ask me which one bc i cannot be bothered to do research for that now) and her work is pretty much her life

she’s learning to loosen up more and enjoy her free time, but her mind still constantly goes to her job and her patients

she never been in a real relationship bc she always considered it a waste of time - she tried it once for like a month but she had to spend too much time on the relationship and not studying or working so she ended things

to say pippa didn’t have much of a childhood is an understatement. she’s been training since she could walk: multiple martial arts forms, gymnastics, and other physical training to make sure she’d be able to protect herself if needed.

pippa was a miracle child to phillip and karina vassos. it was a high risk pregnancy, and karina as not able to have another child afterwards. so the full responsibility of being the heir to the Vassos crime syndicate fell to young phillippa. she never had a choice.

when she was young, she was forced to help out with interrogations and hits. but once she was no longer a minor, she was no longer as heavily involved in the bloodiest part of the business, as she was too valuable.

her family’s crime syndicate is one of the biggest in new york, and very expansive. they traffic weapons, drugs, and other illegal goods. she mostly works with the drug trafficking part of her family’s syndicate, it’s what she’s best at. she also runs the underground fighting that dashiell and elijah fight in on her own. the Vassos also have multiple brothels and things of that sort throughout the city -- but they do not deal in human trafficking. they’re criminals, not demons.

though he was always very protective of his siblings, he wasn’t exactly the responsible older brother - he was absolutely the fun jock with a big ego that got easily annoyed by his little siblings, but was still there for them when they really needed him

grew up in a happy household, somewhere in the suburbs

then when he was seventeen, after one of his games, blake and his parents ended up in a car accident. the parents unfortunately died, blake survived but was severely injured which left him unable to play sports and losing a scholarship

after the accident, blake and his siblings went to live with their aunt - though all the kids didn’t have it easy, blake took it particularly hard

and so he started messing around - staying out late, hanging out with the wrong people, sleeping around with just about anyone he found attractive that evening, the list went on

after a particularly bad night in which some of his friends were caught with drugs and the whole group was brought into the office - the detective interviewing blake took pity on him, especially after auntie calder came in and went on whole rant and basically told blake’s life story 

blake got off with a warning, but he was told to get his act together or he wouldn’t be so lucky the next time

it was a bit of a wake up call for him and after breaking off ties with his friends (some of whom weren’t lucky enough to just get a warning since it wasn’t their first time getting caught) he decided he might as well do something decent with his life and went to the police academy - slightly inspired by the detective who gave him a second chance

he cleaned up his act - though when it came to relationships, the less was better - just keep it simple, sex

and then one day when he was 23, that life also caught up with him - a knock on the door and there was one of his flings, baby in hands telling him that it was his

didn’t really know what to do at first and so he just called his aunt and next thing you know she comes sweeping in, assessing everything and telling him to get a dna-test, just to be sure even though she did believe the girl. dna-test came out positive and bam - he’s a dad

today - eliza (baby girl’s name) is six years old and blake is a proud dad and is a detective

born to a fairly wealthy new york family that has a prominent business, tiffany is the older sister to benjamin. as the oldest child, her parents groomed her from a young age to take over the business. but it was a sacrifice she was willing to take in order to keep her parents happy.

since she was little, she loved clothes and fashion. she loved taking risks and creating her own pieces, which of course she was never allowed to wear. she would get an image in her head and just cut and sew until it was real, which of course meant that things ended up lopsided or too tight or too big. but to her, they were all beautiful, and she loved the things she created dearly.

in college, her parents required her to study business. so she did. however, she also secretly double majored in fashion: something her parents really really wouldn’t approve of. after her graduation, she went right back to her parents’ company, but felt even more incredibly restless than before now that she had a taste of freedom.

noticing this change in their daughter, her mother was harsher than ever. the verbal abuse that had been mild since she could remember amped up. her mother took every opportunity she could to remind tiffany that she was not a normal person, that she was a cold and cruel businesswoman, which is exactly what she needed to be.

a year or two after her graduation, she met her spouse. they clicked instantly, and it was never a question in tiff’s mind that she would spend the rest of her life with this person. they were a constant reminder that she didn’t have to be who her parents insisted she was, and she was able to find and chase a spark of happiness for the first time.... ever.

four years ago, her parents and benjamin had a massive blowout where ben walked out. seeing her parents treat her brother that way was really a turning point in tiff’s relationship with them. she finally hit her limit, and cut off her parents completely, quitting the family business.

they did not attend her wedding last year. ben walked her down the aisle.

Scarlett never had a stable life, to begin with. Both her parents were teenagers resulting in a drunken hookup at a party both attended. Her mother had abandoned her when she was only a few months old after realizing she wasn't ready to be a mother. She was then left in her father's care who'd did his best by her as she grew up.

Unfortunately, the good times didn't last long as her father suffered a brain aneurysm killing him instantly when she was twelve. Scarlett was left in the care of her paternal aunt who couldn't have cared less about her let alone actually take care of her. Her aunt's boyfriend was even worse taking out his frustration and drunken bouts on her physically and emotionally, despite all the horror done to her it just made her kind, albeit a bit slow to trust people after that. She barely squeaked by graduating from high school not to mention she was tossed out on the streets the minute turned eighteen.

Fast forward a year when she was caught pickpocketing a guy's wallet but instead of turning her into the cops he bought her dinner instead. Soon she and Elijah developed a sibling-like bond and have remained close ever since even Elijah’s mother adopted her much to her surprise. Since then she’s gained a close circle of friends she trusts thanks to him helping her open up more.

She then started working at 50′s diner as a waitress while she would take drawing commissions on occasion when she was low on cash as she didn’t feel like asking Elijah all that much. With Elijah’s mom’s as cosigner she now has a small but homely apartment close to her brother's place. She’s only been in a couple of relationships but thankfully they’ve both ended pretty amicably. She’s open to finding love when the right time comes along.

It’s not much its what I have so far. As far as Scarlett’s personality what’s included above just a scratch on the surface. She’s incredibly creative, gentle, and caring, but she’s also sensitive and needs her space at times. If you've gained her trust you can bet she will fight in your corner forever unless you betray her. Despite drawing people in like moth to a flame with her bright nature she doesn’t always enjoy all the attention though it really depends on the situation.

amandine is brooklyn born & raised !   she has a heavy brooklyn accent because of it.

currently she works as a stripper and lives in a smallish apartment with her pit bull, Rocky.

she is the older of a set of identical twins. (for those of you that knew my character clarissa, clari was actually based off of amandine’s twin.) both her parents are french immigrants, and french is her first language. they spent summers in paris and nice while growing up.

she has severe dyslexia but it is undiagnosed. she dropped out of high school at 16, and still hasn’t gotten her GED.

growing up, amandine was an amazing ballerina. at nineteen, she was set to be the prima ballerina in a prestigious dance troupe when one of her team members became upset with her. the other girl accused her of sleeping with the instructor and beat her up, breaking a few ribs and rendering her incapable of auditioning. her life has been in a downward spiral ever since.

after healing, she stopped ballet. instead, she worked for a while as a waitress but was too rude to customers and got fired. so she ended up stripping, instead.

eventually she started dating the owner of the strip club, a man named nicolas. she is still dating him, although he is physically and emotionally abusive.
