I was tagged by the always lovely Mer for this edition of "things about Zainab's blithely uninteresting life".
if you could be a breakfast food, which would you want to be? Doughnuts!
did you collect anything as a kid (or now)? what was it? Not intentionally, but I did sort of accidentally end up collecting pretty notebooks/diaries and never writing in them.
favorite pizza topping? (cheese doesn’t count) Black olives or artichoke hearts if we're getting fancy.
favorite vacation you ever went on? or dream vacation? This past summer, my family went on safari in Kenya, which was amazing and we were super lucky and saw lions, leopards, rhinos, hippos, and hyenas as well as elephants and wildebeests and meerkats and warthogs. (Oh my!)
you can only watch 5 episodes of anything for the rest of your life, what do you choose? Psych, hands down.
favorite book when you were in middle school? Either The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor (which I'm disinclined to read again in case it's not great, which I fear might be the case) or Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (which I reread all the time.)
pick a celebrity you most want to meet Zachary Levi! Let me just put that out into the universe. Please, please, please, universe, let me someday meet Zac Levi. Preferably on a day where I'm not a hot mess and I have something cool for him to sign.
what’s a food you eat when you’re feeling down? I tend to bake a batch of cookies or brownies. Once both.
which of your parents are you most like? My mom, probably. I didn't know it until I was in high school, but some days she's got Veronica Mars levels of snark, and we're both kind of obsessed with cooking.
favorite 90s band? BACK! STREET'S! BACK! ALRIGHT! (Judge me, *NSYNC fans. I dare you.)
worst hairstyle you’ve ever had? The summer before ninth grade, I wanted my hair cut into a layered bob, so the hairstylist cut my hair into what looked like the choppy, layered bob that I wanted. Then my hair dried and the waviness kicked in and it looked familiar but I couldn't tell where it was from until I walked past a Camp Rock poster AND I HAD FREAKING JOE JONAS HAIR IT WAS THE WORST and I may still be just a wee bit bitter.
My questions:
You have the power to bring back a canceled show that you really loved but it's at the expense of one show that you're currently a fan of. Do you do it, and if so, which shows do you pick?
Ice cream or frozen yogurt?
What's your favorite book that's not a work of prose fiction? (Nonfiction, poetry, etc.)
What are your three favorite smells?
Your life is now a movie. Pick one artist to do the soundtrack. (Not the score. Hans Zimmer is scoring and there's nothing you can do about it.)
What do you think your patronus would be?
You've just inherited a million dollars with the caveat that it can only be spent on you. What do you do with it?
Name one thing that you really want to learn how to do.
What's your favorite Disney Channel Original Movie?
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
If you could live in any fictional world, which one would you pick? (Books, movies, and TV are all fair game.)
