My latest acquisition! Â A magnum of 2008 Umani Ronchi Pelago (50% Cabernet Sauvignon; 40% Montepulciano; 10% Merlot). Â Only 370 magums were produced, so I had to get it. Loving the case and that I just got this on a boredom adventure to the NEX.Â
Something I always need help remembering so I thought I would pass on: The Italian designation Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) just means that the wine is from a particular geographic area - typical to the region.  It's not necessarily an indication of quality as the methods used to produced the wine are on par with the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) wines.
This weekend we head to Umbria and explore a winery on horseback! Â I'm a tad scared - does wine and horse riding really mix??
