Step 1: The Surrounding area

When you want to paint a glow effect the surrounding areas should be rather dark so the glow effect can pop more. I decided to go with a grey blue here. It’s very important to paint the areas you want the glow to appear white!

Step 2: Surrounding glow

probably the most important step. Go with your darkest glow effect you want to use. I used a dark orange fluo color for this.

Hit the edges of your white painted areas with it but most importantly: paint the areas sourounding it with it! The more you paint these areas the brighter the glow seems to be in the end.

Here I hit the edges of the lava pools quite strongly

Step 3: fill in the rest with you fluo colors

Here I used a warm fluo orange and an yellow to paint in the lava pool. If you want smaller areas to appear glowing super bright you would add a final white highlight to the center. But with Lava I’m okay with this

Step 4: Finish the rest of the model

You can see here that I also added some glow effects to the upper egg since it’s very near to the lava pool. I also added a light glow to the left egg since it’s also hovering over one of the lava pools
