my hot take of the day how? and 7/4 >>> moon waltz

like moon waltz is objectively beautiful and arguably the best song bora karaca has ever written and/or composed but the low fidelity high emotion and pure love of the game poured into how? and 7/4 are so abundant. literally some barely 20 year old dude nothing but some midi programs on his computer some microphones and live guitar and drums that he originally played entirely himself

the insanity of how? is so fun especially in comparison to 7/4s deliberate "nonsense" lyrics (similar to jabberwocky and tap tap tap) where it doesnt take as much as youd think to sit and listen to and dissect some of those lyrics. the resentment towards the world for treating you and people like you the way it does, for the way youve always felt like you have to be perfect and efficient at every single thing you do or you arent good enough, to try not to fall into the traps of addiction may it be substance abuse or self harm. but thats just 7/4

jabberwocky and tap tap tap takes alot of that but also goes in the direction of xenophobia/colorism from not just the general public but even your own family and them taking out their internalized issues on you (jabberwocky) and themes of toxic masculinity (tap tap tap)

im so serious i got so mad seeing the one mod from cojumpendium say that jabberwocky was a 'story' about human/child trafficking. taking the lyrics at their utmost face value and not looking at the lyrics surrounding anything besides "john the little boy from south taiwan is brought to us against his will" like the entire song is very clearly about someone who looks and acts different from the people around them including people in their immediate family (specifically their skin color and hair texture being referenced) and implying they should be chemically altering the way their hair and skin look
