“Ego” by La Goony Chonga

You’d be hard pressed to find an underground rapper that hasn’t blatantly ripped at least one aspect of their style from somewhere else, but other than the standard trap production, La Goony Chonga might just be operating in a lane all her own. Her cadence, aesthetic, flow, and general presence in the “Ego” video are original in a way that a male artist could never match, and no female artist has tried. When she raps, “I’m always myself and will be till I die,” you can’t help but hope she’s telling the truth, because she’s got something here that no other artist can provide.
