Depends whether I have a case on or not. If I have a fascinating case just the mental stimulation and excitement is enough to keep me awake, as sleep would take valuable thinking time away and keep me from solving the case, which is unacceptable. I have better things to do than sleep while on a case. However, if no case is on, there are two possibilities. Either I also do not sleep at all by being upset by my overreactive mind, which has nothing to focus on and keeps me from sleeping until I just want to shut it completely down to make it stop. Or I am so bored by everything that I just try to force myself asleep or at least induce a trance like state by trying to enter my mindpalace or chemical means, and sleeping most of the boring horrible dreadful day away as there is nothing to do. Which is what I did today. Slept until 3 p.m. Still bored.
Let me guess, you read a book all night and that's why you did not sleep. And is the ‘mashed potato brain’ any different than the normal state of an average human’s brain? They are all as dull and stupid as potatoes.
