I wonder how many non-American, non-anglophones, fairly offline people just didn't understand that Jax is trans and all the symbolism flew over their heads.
Like, in my case, I knew Isn't she lovely was referred to Jax BUT as I thought it was a generic love song about A Woman, my thought process was "ah yes, this is another case in which the meaning it's vague enough that it could be about either character. Pomni is also very lovely". I'm sorry Stevie Wonder, I've never looked into the meaning of your song, I've only ever heard it on the radio sometimes.
A friend of mine thought the song choice was a joke at Jax's expense, since Gooseworx already put him/her in a dress as a "joke" before.
And before you come for me or my friend with "uhm the lyrics are explicitly about a baby it sings less than a minute old duuuh you're stupid" I need to remind you that both of us are not native English speakers, and it's very easy to misheard words in a song, especially if you're not familiar with its context. Plz don't throw rocks at me.
