I was actually worried that maybe this was my first Emily Henry read without a HEA. The FMC was kind of all about that acceptance of an ending that has both good and bad, and I was like no way they just have to part ways. And accept right person, wrong time.

I am so happy their families came together and gave a powerpoint. That is funny af, but so them.

I just have so many thoughts about this book, i don't even know how to articulate them. I just love the self-awareness. Emily really just writes what she knows. On god, isn't nearly every one of her books about a writer of some kind? It isn't my realm of expertise, but she definitely writes it well. It makes me want to write.

And the set up to the story. The FMC is like the side girl. And the parallels to Nadine Winters. And its like, this is how the FMC describes herself, or appears, and we learn how she is so much more. IDK, it just felt very unique and creative, even if it sounds simple as I say it outloud.

Also I can't believe it took them 2 years to reconnect. Charlie notices all these things, but I wanted some like crazy confession or pining reveal. Obviously it was implied, but I just wanted more. Like a Ali Hazelwood reveal. Also why they got such old people names? Nora and Charlie. Also Libby- couldn't stop thinking about the library app.

GOD and they really had me going with Libby! I was convinced from Nora's perspective. I thought for sure Libby was in rough waters. Or dying tbh. The bucket list threw me off a bit.

Also happy tears Charlie didn't have to stay there. They are both city people. Fucking let them be in the city damnit. None of this family guilt. Unless someone was on their deathbed of course, then maybe I could understand. But his cousin is there and everything.. idk his parents seemed capable.
