Blurry bugs are still nice bugs :) Surprised you got a photo even this clear, they are VERY small.
So weird booklice were called booklice because they were like lice on books, but then actual lice turned out to be a kind of booklouse.
@midnightevermore submitted: Hi! So here's a lil bug I keep finding in my apartment (in Finland), they seem to be living mostly under skirting boards. Super tiny, like maybe the size of a poppy/chia seed, I think they have 3 leg pairs and antennae, doesn't seem to be able to fly but when you touch them they do jump, which sort of makes me nervous that these are lice or bed bugs? Hope the picture is sufficient even if it's not the best. Thank you for your help! x
It doesn’t look like a parasitic louse or bed bug, it looks like a booklouse. They can be common in houses, especially in damp areas. They’re harmless, despite having louse in the name :)
@sensualclowns submitted: I saw a very cute bug today and was talking to him for like a minute before I realized a guy was standing like 5 feet away looking at me with a horrified expression, because the bug was so tiny I just looked like a lunatic. near Seattle, WA if anyone wants to try to ID my very bad photos.
Love this. I think most of us have gotten weird looks for looking at or talking to bugs in public. Your tiny friend looks like a booklouse!

Ooooh a cutie!!! It’s a domestic booklouse in the genus Liposcelis. This may be the first one I’ve ever had submitted which is very exciting. They are unfortunately often a pest of stored grains, so if you see any more, you may want to check any dried goods you have! If I recall correctly, they mainly reproduce through parthenogenesis, which is fun.
Do you have any good booklice pics? My mom is librarian and i like to email her pictures of them as a joke :)
