What's the Dragon Ball Blood Parasite AU 👀? That's sounds super duper interesting and cool. .!!
Clears throat. Hacks up a ball of lint. OK SO to keep it simple the Brood Parasite saga is my rewriting of the baby saga from dbgt bc I'm a chronic selfshipper and am always finding ways to get my nosy ass involved in the general lore.
It involves This Oc (genuinely my deus ex machina, I know – that's not what I Made him for, but hey, since he's there!) sending the Tuffle parasite (in his fetal form) to Earth to be raised by This Other Oc because Coralia is basically Pluto's favorite for better or worse (they're EXTREMELY similar, too).
The gist of it is a parallel to Goku's backstory (by accident. Somehow.) wherein this Murder Machine is saved and kept from killing absolutely everyone by being raised by some human guy. Baby is 100% self aware by the time Coralia meets him, though – but he's weak, so, regardless of how much he hates it, he needs... Help.
And it's also my favoritest bit of the whole AU bc it's an excuse to showcase how parental love can be *truly* absolute... No matter the consequences. It doesn't matter if Baby kills everyone – it doesn't matter if Coralia gets used as just another host – he's still Coralia's son, and as long as he's happy, his father will be happy.
Baby is my favorite dragon ball character of all time, but he's sadly wasted potential in a story that'll never explore his grey areas. Sigh. And thus I dream.
This saga in my AU is called brood parasite specifically bc, if it was canon to GT in any way, I'd like for it to spark debate as to whether or not Coralia is already infected and caring for Baby solely because of that. Does he truly believe his child is innocent? Is he doing it with the knowledge hes not? Only time will tell.
