Good Friday 14 April 2017 The Husb & I took a 6.6km hike around Perry Lakes and Bold Park this morning. We even included some hill โsprintsโ and ended up very sweaty (but selfie camera beauty filter is turned ON so no glow ๐.)
There is no water in this lake any more - it was drained for some reason. We think they should fill it again instead of pumping run-off out to sea.
The bottom photo is a section of footpath where fallen eucalyptus leaves and seeping water have stained the concrete an amazing natural camouflage.
Remnant bushland in Perth is an important part of the landscape for so many of our native animals so itโs fantastic to have a relatively large patch located in the Western Suburbs.
Smiling Saturday 11 June 2016: 2330 I didn't ride today because of a headache and The Husb got 2km and had two flats, so walked home. Instead we did a 6km hike through Bold Park with Mitzy in the afternoon. We met some people we hadn't seen in 10 years half way, so it turned out quite sociable. The highlight was catching up with my Boy tonight after 15 days away; 10 of those in the field. He was happy to be clean and said when he walked through the barracks freshly showered and scrubbed to meet us, he realised that everyone smelt like poo! We had dinner at Propeller in North Fremantle. It was casual but pleasant and the young man who served us was great. Tom regaled us with his stories and Rob was glad to see him before flying off to South Korea for work. That's why I am up so late ahead of an early morning group ride; he's only just gone and I had to lock up behind him.
