Bokuto yawned loudly, shaking his torso and scratching his chest. He looked over at Kuroo, who was busy picking out some flowers for their third year anniversary of being together. âCome on!â Bokuto whined. âI wanna go home!âÂ
âNot now, Bokuto! We have to make this perfect!â Kuroo said, brushing his bed-head-hair out of his eyes to get a better look at the flowers. âI think we should get a custom bouquet of all our favorites. What do you think?â He asked, running a hand nervously through his hair.Â
âHmm... Yeah! I like that. Letâs do that.â Bokuto nodded quickly in agreement. He didnât like planning, he left to Akaashi, but he wasnât stupid. He knew what the other two liked and disliked, so it wasnât too hard to go from there, right? More often than not, the others let Kuroo and Bokuto choose things anyway since they didnât like making decisions.Â
âGreat, Iâll go order that. Stay close, okay?â Kuroo said. Bokuto nodded and sat down in the aisle, waiting for Kurooâs return. People found it weird to see a spiker for the MSBY Black Jackals sitting in an aisle like a little kid, but thatâs how he waited. Otherwise, heâd wander off just because he could. If he sat down, he couldnât go anywhere. It was that simple.Â
âBokuto?â Bokuto turned and saw Hinata, another spiker for his volleyball team. âHey! What are you doing on the floor?â Hinata crouched down next to him, tilting his head a little.Â
âWaiting for Kuroo.â Bokuto said simply, and the redhead nodded, sitting next to him.Â
âIâll wait with you then! Out shopping for your anniversary coming up?â Hinata asked, leaning on his hand. Bokuto nodded and Hinata smiled. âThatâs cute. Iâm happy for you, Bo! Iâm glad you have so many people to love you. We canât do it all ourselves you know.â Hinata joked, referencing their teams tendency to slightly baby the owl-like man.Â
âHey! You said you wouldnât make fun of me for that!â Bokuto pouted, crossing his arms like a child. This just made his friend laugh, which in turn made him laugh. âYeah, I get it. Theyâre all my loves though, and Iâd fight for em! Well, I mean, if it was necessary. I donât like violence.âÂ
âYeah, I know. Someone tried to punch you and you said sorry. Honestly, itâs kinda cute how non-violent you are compared to high school you. You used to be really aggressive!â Hinata laughed again and Bokuto shook his head.
âWell, thatâs not me anymore, Shoyo. Iâm a pacifist now.â He grinned, proud of himself for using a term Kenma used. His gamer boyfriend usually had to explain things to him. Wait till he heard about this!
âBokuto?â Kuroo looked in the aisle and sighed out of relief. âHey, glad to see youâre still here. Why didnât you follow me? I said stay close.â He said, helping both Bokuto and Hinata off of the floor.Â
âYou did? Oh, oops. Sorry, Tetsu! I heard âstay putâ not âstay closeâ so I sat down.â Bokuto rubbed the back of his neck and silently hoped he wasnât in trouble. It wasnât likely, but you never knew. âAre you mad?â Kuroo frowned and hugged his boyfriend.Â
âBokuto, weâve been over this. Iâm not gonna get mad over small things like this. Nor will Akaashi or Kenma. We arenât like your exes.â Kuroo kissed his head and cupped his cheek, smiling softy. âCome on, letâs go get some presents.âÂ
âOkay.â Bokuto nodded and smiled, waving goodbye to Hinata and leaving with Kuroo. They shopped around for a few hours, then snuck in the house through Bokutoâs window, hiding the presents under Kurooâs bed to wrap them later. Kurooâs from Bokuto, and Bokutoâs from Kuroo, were already wrapped so they didnât spoil the surprise.Â
A few days later, the four boys were gathered in the living room as Kuroo brought in the bags of presents for each person, putting them down and giving them to the boy it belonged to. A bouquet of flowers sat on the table and one of Kurooâs lasagnas were in the oven. Movies waited to be watched, snacks to be eaten.Â
When presents were opened, dinner was eaten, and snacks grabbed, a movie was put on. âThey do realize we also get email receipts, right?â Akaashi muttered quietly as Bokuto and Kuroo argued over what movie to watch.Â
âNo, theyâre kinda dumb sometimes. Especially around electronics.â Kenma said, for one not having a game in his hand. His hair was braided, courtesy of Bokuto, and Akaashi also had his hair done by Kuroo.Â
âWe love them anyway, donât we?â Akaashi smiled lovingly at the two taller boys, hearing an affirmative hum from Kenma. Bokuto won the movie fight and made an âah-ha!â sound as he put the movie in. Once it had started, Bokuto sat in front of the couch leaning back with his head between Kenma and Akaashi. Kuroo sat down next to Kenma, putting his arm around both boys sitting there, knowing Akaashi didnât like to be crowded.Â
For those two, their dumbass duo made their anniversary the best one yet. Just because they were there. But, well, thatâs love for you, isnât it?
After the movie, Kuroo found he had Bokuto and Kenma at his sides, curled up and each under their own blanket. Akaashi sat next to Bokuto, petting his hair. âYouâre both dumbasses. You know that?âÂ
âWhat? How?â Kuroo asked, pulling the other two closer to him as Akaashi helped pull out the couch-bed to help them sleep better.Â
âWe can see receipts too, Tetsuro.â Akaashi smiled at Kurooâs surprised face and kissed his cheek. âWe didnât read it once we figured out what it was, but maybe pay in cash next time.â Kuroo nodded and gave Akaashi a blanket, then put one over himself and their other boyfriends as Akaashi laid down with his back to the other three.Â
âSleep well, Keiji.â Kuroo kissed his head and fell asleep.Â
