familiar face ☆ flippy
It was a day like most others. Splendid had grown accustomed to living in his own world, likely ignorant to the violent world he'd been living in. The deaths that occurred or otherwise were ignored and he continued his daily life as comfortably as he possibly could. Some hero. But he did help with what he could... He'd just been too late to the scene at some points. Perhaps it was for his own sanity, his radio was turned up constantly. Even now, ear buds were tucked in and he was hardly paying attention to his surroundings. Splendid wore a pair of oven mitts and carried yet another fresh loaf of bread.. Perfect and not burned at all! With no distractions, anything was possible. Still, he wasn't paying attention.. Humming a fanfare that was nothing like whatever song he was listening to... This couldn't possibly end well.
And it didn't.
As cliche as it was, a corner was turned and given his own pace it was a clash! It almost ended tragically, for both of them plus his bread, but Splendid had quick reflexes, see? While the other could have fallen back and his bread could have flown it's own way, Splendid acted quickly. First, he caught the other -- an arm wrapped around their waist to keep them from falling back -- and then his eyes were up to locate and successfully catch the bread with one oven mitt'd hand. Once he was sure it was safe, he peered down at the person now in his arms with a relieved smile despite their current position.
"Phew! ☆ You almost made me drop it!"
His relieved expression soon changed to one more curious. Staring hard at the person he still held unblinking and apparently not ready to assist the other in standing straight once more, Splendid's brow furrowed. "Hrm..." He knew this one, didn't he? As if on cue, one of his ear buds popped out and a gasp emitted from him. "Ah- Hold on!" Without thinking of the consequences, he practically dropped the soldier he previously held to remove the second earbud and turn off his radio to pay attention to this familiar face.
"Floppy. Right? Er.. Nippy? Slippy..."
Wrong.
