Meet the Oh! so Lovely Boii MsPixels
Our first interviewee is a Motswana lady passionate about photography. Armed with a camera and passion for the male dominated art form, HR got a chance to know a little more than what meets the eye.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A simple Motlokwa young lady aged 23 who is determined to make her business a success.
How long have you been a photographer?
I have been a photographer for 5 months now. Started on the 4th of October 2013, that was when I had my first shoot.
Who or what inspires you in your personal life and work?
My personal life is inspired by my Sister, she worked hard and made it to achieve her goals. The established photographers known as Tshidi Khunou nd Fify Loewen inspire my photography business.
How do you keep yourself motivated and your photography fresh?
Happiness. With happiness,life becomes enjoyable. My photography is fresh because I use different effects to different shoots I have and not use only one.
What’s the best part of being a photographer?
The part I feel I live photography during my photo shoot session. I feel blown out of the world to a different planet. It lifts me.
The hardest part of your job?
The hardest? Oh my. The hardest would be when I work with clients that have no idea on how to strike a pose of feel comfortable in front of the camera.
The easiest part of your job?
Coming up with concepts or themes for photo shoot I have lined up.
Something you’re still learning?
The new developments about photography And luckily, I'm doing a course helping me with that. Journalism and Media Studies.
What advice do you have for photographers just starting out?
Never feel you are a small fish to swim in an big sized pond. Simply saying, if you want to survive in photography, do not feel your pictures are not good enough. Learn ways of penetrating your way in.
What do you love to indulge in?
New projects relating to radio or photography there is always space to learn more about something that you do. I like to do Charity work too.
Something that is overrated?
Coming from a wealthy family.
Something you’re saving up for?
New equipment for my business and to start building myself a house by 2015.
If you could have lunch with anyone who is famous who would it be?
It would be Charlize Theron.
Where you’ll find me on a Friday night at 9 p.m.?
I have become a lot content these days, the night life does not interest me no more. So, maybe sleeping or in front of the T.V watching movies.
Are you a Canon or Nikon?
A Nikon
Your favorite film of all time?
LOL, this is a funny one. I love Twilight, it is cheesy but I love it. There is also Titanic, that movie was well scripted.
Three words that describe you?
Inquisitive. Fun. Loving
And the last question, if you had one wish.
I would wish for the success of my business and family to remain and hold the bond we have now till the end. I would also wish that we believe in and praise God in all paths we walk in.
