Moreover, many systems don’t allow the same type of fighting as you would with the real thing. Really, most of them. In Dystopia Rising’s “Lightest Touch” combat system, for example, it’s really more playing tag with boffers while calling damage. Dagorhir is a bit more realistic, but let’s face it, real weapons don’t weight or swing the same way, they don’t suffer from boffer bounce, instead biting into their target. And the lack of pain, especially if you aren’t acting your injuries, is a huge factor.
