i'm really proud of the first chapter! thank you for shouting that one out in particular, i think it's one of the most emotionally complex pieces of smut i've ever written and putting it out there was hugely satisfying to me as a longitme fuffy fan who had never really written them before.

i've been writing fic for a long time, but bodlang is easily one of the things i'm most proud of. it means so much to me to know that other people love it and have adopted it as a comfort fic or a beloved reread. the best thing about writing fic is putting something out there for other fans who love what you love to connect to.

Hmm. Realistically probably Body Language - my 86k word post-series Faith/Buffy smut epic/character study manifesto. It's my longest completed work and I'm proud of it.

I think probably the best thing about it is I think it accomplished my goal of conveying character and relationship analysis and growth through a series of sex scenes. I feel like despite that being the format for 7 chapters I was pretty able to keep it from being too repetitive.

Oh my god this is such a compliment lmao. You're at least the second person I've managed to sell on Fuffy who liked BTVS before but never cared about them as a ship and I consider that at least as big an accomplishment as getting people to watch the show for the first time. Maybe more.

Buffy elbows her in the arm. Hard, too, with those spiky little elbows of hers - the ones she launches like speartips into the chins and solar plexuses of marauding vamps and the occasional handsy asshole at the club.

Buffy elbows her shoulder, because they’re crowded in too close together in the cramped little bathroom of their shoebox apartment, and it sends Faith’s arm jerking, toothbrush flying out of her mouth, leaving a stripe of foamy toothpaste across her cheek

11: What do you like best about this fic? Honestly, I'm pretty proud of the whole thing. Writing-wise I think i did a good job with what I set out to do - wrote a bunch of smut that stayed hot while communicating something meaningful about the characters. But it was a great experience writing overalll - had fun planning things with my beta @arznersfishingrod, had fun getting to know people in the fuffy community, and got way more comfortable with the characters!

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic? The age of taking Faith at her word that she's this rigid dom top is OVER. We MUST make room in our hearts for subby bottom Faith and, crucially, bossy top Buffy.

the pattern won't wash out 1: What inspired you to write the fic this way? Oh this is fun. I reblogged a prompt list ages ago and someone sent in "Fuffy + reunion kiss"

The original idea for the fill (since it would have been short and snappy) is to drop in right after Buffy gets her memories back. It's post-series, she just spent a few memory-wiped days following Faith around and having insane chemistry together and when reversing the spell restores her memory, Buffy now has the context necessary to realize Oh, Faith is like in LOVE with her and tracks her down for a big, romantic smooch

Unfortunately, that idea is burned as a prompt fill now, because the big deal in Pattern is how much they don't kiss. But that's where it started

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic? Oh uhh idk. Don't make out with people who are enspelled. It's not cool

What inspired you to write the fic this way?

oh actually there is a direct inspiration for this fic. there's this one extremely good swanq/ueen smut fic that's lived in my head rent free since reading it years ago, that i kind of wanted to try to emulate - charting the course of a relationship using a series of sexual encounters as milemarkers. in the end, bodlang kind of evolved past the thing i was initially trying to do, but that was still my jumping off point

4. What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

god idk there's so much fucking dialogue in that fic. the first thing that comes to mind is faith's line "would it kill you to be a little sentimental?" as she's about to go down on buffy in the first chapter. i just think it's funny. i love to write them being stupid <3
