These are the films I grew up on...my Dad’s newsreels. He was the only journalist in the Ole Miss Lyceum with a movie camera during the riots surrounding the admission of James Meredith, an Air Force veteran, to the University in 1962. Dad, as a journalist, explained this event to me, as well as when he covered George Wallace’s 1963 stand in the University of Alabama schoolhouse door.
