The Swales - Weatherman

The Swales regrouped last year and recorded some of their finest music to date.  This northern NJ group is led by my pal Bobby Carr who sings, plays guitar and pens the tunes.  Another old friend Mark Moran plays lead guitar.  (Mark's other career is putting out the Weird NJ and Weird USA books)

In December of last year they released the album Stranger Things from which Weatherman was born.  Weatherman is a timeless pop gem that could have been recorded back in the 50's or 60's as much as today.  It has the same yearning feeling of a song like Mr. Postman, where the singer, feeling helpless because his beloved is gone, pleads with the weatherman to send rain on a sunny day because he's so lovesick for the girl who, ironically, left him for nicer weather.  Its useless trying to tell this luckless hero that someone that shallow isn't worth his tears.  Yes, its a song sprung from the Garden State all right.

I'm glad to see the LP on iTunes but the version on Rhapsody wasn't working when I tried, so Bob fix that so I can listen to it on my Sonos system!

Seriously, Bob's catchy tunes and deceptively complex lyrics are sure to find a wider audience, just like they did in the old days when the band was signed to Bar None records back in the 90's.
