multiples of 10 for the ask thing
10. Are you always going to be a little in love with somebody?
I think probably, for better or worse, yes. Although I donât know if Iâve ever truly/really been in/felt love with/for someone?
20. Do you want a grand adventure?
Tentatively yes. Of course it likely wonât happen until after covid, whenever thatâll be.
30. Are your choices fated or of your own free will?
I think a mixture of both, to be honest. I think that there are some things that happen that are beyond our control but there are also obviously choices or responses that are based on our actions.
40. What makes a person âgoodâ? Are you a âgood personâ?
I think the main consideration in what makes a person good is how much and whether they minimize harm to others, through their own actions or in response to the actions of others, and how much and whether they try to help and benefit others.Â
I think Iâm probably not as bad nor as good as I could be.
50. What do you expect from a friend or partner?
Generally speaking: consideration and honesty, and support within ability. I try to not go beyond that.
60. What do you think the next era of fashion will be like?
Iâve mentioned before that I feel like the Trump administration has been such a callback to the Reagan years that weâve seen a neo-Eighties fashion revival, and so logically speaking there should be a neo-Nineties fashion revival.
However, I think weâre overdue for a pre-neo-Zenon fashion surge at this point.
70. Whatâs the tragedy of your life?
Either the acceptance and focus on my identity later than ideal and all the extra catching up and lost opportunities, or (to be pretentious), this quote from Marina Tsvetaevaâs Bride of Ice:
âIn you, I see the heroines of Shakespeareâs tragedies. You, unhappy lady, were never saved by anybody.â
80. Is your music organised by mood or sensation or do you just listen to everything at any time?
Oh, definitely the latter, since I donât particularly organize my music.
90. Given the chance to reset your life (with none of the knowledge you currently have), would you take it?
I donât think so - I think it would be extremely tragic and depressing, even if I didnât know it, to redo my life and end up the same way.Â
100. What belief do you have that isnât logically grounded, but you still firmly believe in?
The idea of nemesis or hubris, and/or the idea that if something really good happens something bad will occur to balance it and so I should be careful about celebrating or enjoying things too much.Â
