Are you ready to set out on your pokémon hero adventure? Applications for writers and artists are now officially open!

When you apply you will soon receive an invite to the Big Bang’s Discord Server, where you will be able to interact with all other writers and artists throughout the course of this big bang!

Here’s some general information you might find useful on your journey:

You can apply as a writer or an artist for the big bang

Writers: word minimum is 5,000 words (you can write more!)

Artists: one fully coloured piece is required (you can create more!)

You can apply as both a writer and an artist as long as you can meet all the check-ins

Pinch Hitter and Beta Reader applications will go up soon

Please provide as much information as possible when applying

Information regarding claims and how they will go will be provided closer to the date on our schedule!

As you may or may not be aware, the third check-in is coming up on January 11th. 

 As a result of a poll on our Discord Server, we will add a SECOND POSTING DATE from March 2nd-9th and a fourth check-in on February 22nd. This second posting date is meant for those who could not meet the requirements for completion in time for the first one! If you would need to utilise this second posting date, please inform one of the mods during this check-in! 

 As for this coming check-in: Check-ins will be done the same way as they were before, through email and containing a proof of your progress (word count/screenshot). Should you need an extension for this check-in, talk to one of the mods so we can make note of it, as long as there is communication, everything should run smoothly regardless. Writers are asked to have close to the required 5000 words while artists are asked to have their pieces mostly done as well if they mean to post for the first date. 

Should you need to drop out for any reason, please contact one of the mods so that we can assign pinch hitters for your partners!

As you may or may not be aware, the second check-in is coming up on November 9th. Check-ins will be done the same way as they were before,and you can CLICK HERE to check the details if you need a refresher. 

Some of you who have requested extensions have not yet sent in your first check-in. You may send in your progress for the second check-in alone if you'd like. 

Just like before, should you need an extension for this check-in, talk to one of the mods or send an email to [email protected] so we can make note of it. As long as there is communication, everything should run smoothly regardless. 

Writers are asked to have at least 3000 words while artists are asked to have around 50-60% of your piece done.

Pinch Hitters: You can apply as both an artist or a writer as long as you can meet the check-ins

Beta Readers: You will be added onto a list and if a participant asks for a beta reader one of the mods will be in contact with you in order to set up communication with your author

It has the link to the summay submission google form that you can also find in the first email you received when you joined the big bang! Should you have any questions feel free to send in an ask (preferably outside of anon)!

Thank you all so much for your applications! We have gathered enough writers that are extremely eager to get to writing!

Summary submissions are due July 28th so that our artists can look over the stories, so don’t forget to submit your summaries on time!

Pinch Hitter and Beta Reader applications will remain open throughout the entirety of the big bang in case of unexpected drop outs so don’t hesitate to apply!

Claims will happen this saturday at 5pm EST through a google form that can be easily answered on a mobile device should you not be near your laptop. If you really can't at this time, talk to someone who can maybe do it for you if you want, they'll just have to submit two forms with the correct info. The claims form will be posted to the blog as well as the discord server and sent through an email so be sure to check one of these by then!
