SHALLOW BREATH / DEEP CUTS, Exhaustion consumes her whole. Hand flat against ground, the uneven sharp edges of cobbled floor; worn over time, cutting into flesh. Not deep, nor scars to be there upon healing, just a S T I N G. Blood drips, staining the earth upon which she balanced her frame. Dry throat upon swallowing, daggering pain. A single dry tear slips down rosette cheeks. A v o i c e in the distance. Familiarity. Emerald gaze upwards, just so to see more than the ground && her shaking arms. She is alive. Through the bare skin of her teeth. The ancient ambushed in a side alley, she alone. Fighting wasn’t her first nature, but close second. She was not afraid of the usual darkness that lurked in places uninhabited by human kind. These, however, had been stronger. Infused with some greater power. The wisps of dark blue hues that protected them, made them a greater challenge than she had initially a n t i c i p a t e d. Footsteps, closer and closer still. Through blurred vision, she can see waves of rosy pink hair, and faint blue aqua, a pale white outline. ( Lightning ) she was here to save her. Though she may be alive, she could not predict how far she may get alone before she collapses, either from blood loss, pain or exhaustion. Quiet prayers to the earth on none of those being an option now that s h e was here to save her. “It’s… It’s okay…” Barely audible, and the daggering pain in her throat is prominent, causing her to cough which makes her fragile frame weaker still. One hand reaches, grasping the shoulder of her bodyguard, giving herself some sense of stability.
“You’re here now..” She strains herself to say, and decides that’s enough talking. Aerith was with Lightning now, she would look after her. And as though her body would be aware of this presence, it gave way completely. Her body collapses onto the floor, arm barely reached out enough to protect her face as she falls. Was it over? Could she rest now?
