“C’MON, LIKE WE PRACTICED, ” Charly told Cecil in reference to a time in their youth where they would occasionally put on a small, but extravagant dance routine to spice up a room or get free drinks. Ah, to be young again.
For all intents and purposes, Charly wasn’t far from her younger self. She consciously did what she could to hang onto that part of herself. Eventually, Charly stumbled over one of Cecil’s feet, or perhaps her other foot, it was difficult to tell which. It left Charly’s slender figure bent over the arm that Cecil previously had around her waist, hanging there momentarily as she began to laugh melodically.
“ Don’t worry, I won’t make you do that again, ” Charly told Cecil, knowing he hated her for making him do it in the first place. It had been a minute since their time spent on the hill in their recent adult life. Space seemed like the right call, one both of them made silently.
Silence struck again as they were both left watching the room for a moment beside each other. “ I heard they were matched up by a quiz. Too bad we didn’t have that, huh? ” Charly looked up at him, studying his face in an attempt to understand what he was thinking. When she remembered it was an impossible feat, she said something she knew would garner a reaction, “ I’m a pretty great wing woman. I don’t say that from experience, but... I could be. I could totally set you up, make your Valentine’s Day Night. Tell me, what’s your type? What are you looking for in a woman Cecil Lefebvre? ”
