The Hacketteers in the Hunger Games
If you have better headcanons feel free to add them! But you KNOW Ryan volunteered as tribute to keep watch of his baby sister Sarah. Chris is their mentor and they’re from District 4. It’s the fishing one and I felt like Ryan fits in with that since he’s a sailor. Also it’s one of the most rebellious districts according to wiki cuz the tributes smiled at Katniss in the og book.
I had a hard time deciding whether Kaitlyn should come with Dylan or Jacob but since they were childhood friends I’m gonna have her with Jacob. They’re from District 12 and you know Kaitlyn is handy with a bow. Kaitlyn volunteered to watch over Jacob.
Damn, missed chance to have Nick be a baker like Peeta since he’s on kitchen duty in the game, but he’s with Abi in District 8. Since it’s to do with textiles I felt it was the most artsy and gave that to Abi.
Dylan and Emma are from District 3 being tech savvy, and also it’s another rebellious district like 4.
Laura and Max are from district 7. I read that it is covered in trees and most citizens know how to use an axe. If I couldn’t give Laura a bow and arrow you know I’m giving her an axe. She also volunteered as tribute to watch out for Max who was always clumsy with his axe and is terrified of being in the games.
Okay so Kaitlyn and Jacob immediately form an alliance with Emma cuz Jacob falls for her obvs. And soon Kaitlyn and Dylan form an alliance. Now for the other romances. Obviously Nick and Abi but also Emma and Abi. And most importantly DYLAN AND RYAN.
At first Ryan doesn’t trust Dylan (just like Katniss didn’t trust Peeta), especially since he’s part of one of the biggest alliances but soon Ryan sees that none of Dylan’s crew ever go near to hurting Sarah. They actually go out of their way to protect her. Even Laura, who had a bad brushing with Ryan doesn’t want to hurt Sarah.
I’m torn between them all going against the capital and refusing to kill each other or all dying to save Sarah and so that she’s the sole victor thanks to her brother’s friends. It’d make a bittersweet end. But nah let’s have them all survive and stick it to the man! Together they start the revolution that takes down the capital!
