Cassie bent down at the knees slightly as she leant over Emma from behind. The girl was sitting in the break-room, scrolling on her phone and chewing on a way too dry granola bar. She nearly choked when she turned, saw piercing blue eyes staring at her, and felt a stray red hair tickle her neck.
“You’ve got a bit of a crush, don’t you, sweet thing?”
Emma’s eyes widened, and Cassie’s expression, if possible, got even more smug. She rose to her full height and watched Emma push herself away from the table, and scramble to stand up.
The young nurse backed herself against the counter, “wh- me? I mean, Dr. McKay-…”
She sighed, defeated, “just a little one, yeah. Sorry.”
Cassie bit her lip, considered. Almost whispered, “it’s ok.”
Emma watched, hypnotized as Cassie moved towards her. Reached past Emma to open a cabinet like she wasn’t even there, whole body stretching over her.
Emma flitted her gaze away from a strip of skin at the doctor’s pale hip.
“Coffee?” Cassie asked.
Emma nodded mutely. Finished her snack embarrassingly loudly. And way too fast.
Cassie didn’t acknowledge her again until she was handing her a mug, fixed just the way she liked it. How - ?
Their fingers brushed.
“The bad news for you is that I’m spoken for, but -
she got closer again to bring her lips to Emma’s ear,
“my girl’s pretty generous… I think we can negotiate a kiss. More, if you ask her real nice, yeah?”
She paused. Checked in with, “that interest you?” as she straightened herself. Took a scalding sip from *Emma’s* drink, before placing it back in her shaking hand.
Emma nodded quickly, flushed all the way to her chest.
She moved to leave, but Emma called after her, “wait!”
Cassie tsk’d over her shoulder, “Victoria’ll text you, kid.”
Oh. Holy shit.
