“Blue, can we do something different tonight?” Archer asked softly.

“HUH?” Blue had been setting up the board games that they usually played on date nights. “OH, SURE. IS SOMETHING WRONG?”

“No, I...well, yes but...” Archer began sniffling and Blue squeaked as he quickly slid in next to Archer on the couch.

“Archer?” Blue’s volume lowered as he held his now sobbing boyfriend close, “Archer, honey, what’s wrong? Please talk to me.”

“I just can’t....I keep thinking how much I wish I could play games with Mage and...” Archer clings to Blue and shakes. “I’m sorry for ruining-”

“NO! No, Archer,” Blue cuddled and kissed Archer softly, holding him close. “You haven’t ruined anything. Shh, it’s okay.” He nuzzles him softly, “I’m sorry I never noticed it made you sad before. What do you want to do instead? Or would you rather me pick?”

“Can we...j-just watch cartoons?” Archer sniffled and held on to Blue’s shirt, feeling desolate.

“Oh sure!” Blue was more than happy, turning his TV and VCR on, “I have an old human home-made tape of that old Muppet Babies cartoon. It’s very interesting.”

Archer nodded, “cool...thanks for understanding,Blue.” They adjusted themselves so that Archer could lay on Blue’s chest.

Blue rubbed Archer’s skull gently, “Of course, Archer. I don’t want to do anything that hurts your feelings and dates are supposed to be fun for both of us.” He even started to purr softly, hoping to get through that he was just as happy to do this as he was to play games.

Weakly, Archer chuckled, then murmured, “I love you.”
