Just had another very important thought about a Sonic Undertale AU. Who would be the gay armored soldiers? Someone needs to be set up for a cute ice cream date
OH OH OHHH WHISPER AND TANGLE!!! They're both in the Guard and Silver buddied them up as a wingman move but they haven't registered that their mutual crushes aren't actually unrequited yet <3 if this were a video game the player would def see them here and there all around the overworld breaking robots and getting cats out of trees where needed, always attached at the hip. Oh and I think they'd be part of the friend group that hangs out with Sonic in the local Meh Burger (Grillbys), along with Sticks and the Chaotix, to name a few
OH this gives me an opportunity to expand the Royal Guard, they basically act as defense against Eggman's rogue science experiments because he may be the Royal Scientist but he's got a habit of making Dangerous Robots to break the Barrier with and if it doesn't work he'll just. Not bother with them anymore. Which leads them to go rampage on the nearby towns unrestricted
Thoughts about the Sonic Undertale AU (becauseUndertalebrain go brr /positive):
I don't really know anything about Sonic Frontiers, but I could maybe see some fun trauma/whump ideas come into play
Vanilla and Cream own the inn in Snowdin, and the chao overrun Temmie Village. That is all
YEEESSS CHAO VILLAGE!!! Also Vanilla and Cream owning the inn in Snowdin is absolutely perfect,, wholesome rabbit family,,, I'd like to think that Cream is the one who personally does grocery runs to the Ruins for Amy too, so they still keep their friendship
awh yEAH Frontiers angst in there would totally fit too— maybe the Ancients' technology is in the underground keeping it in a liveable condition, like the CORE did in Undertale— and the mc starts using this technology to fight enemies and it starts giving everyone cyber corruption, which could be a way for the no mercy run to fit into it without the stabby stabby in particular. This would also fit really well with Sonic being the final boss, since he's the only one who can get a handle on those powers 👀
I also toyed with the idea that in place of Alphys using Determination on monster souls to make Amalgamations, Eggman makes the metal virus for Barrier Breaking Purposes but it gets out of hand, and he has to quarantine the True Lab because of it...
Hehehehe this is so much fun to brainstorm I am rubbing my hands together like a fly
