Crocuspaw hears cats whispering about how she should have chosen to train as a medicine cat. Bluepelt finds her and tells her not to take it lying down. She knows her own path, and if they don't like it, they can shove it.
Crocuspaw sees Bluepelt dismembering his prey and asks him about it.
Crocuspaw has been having nightmares. Bluepelt tells her that it's her responsibility to be awake enough for training. He won't soothe her because she's not in the nursery. Does she want to be a kit or a warrior? Crocuspaw tells him that she wants to be a warrior.
Crocuspaw is woken up by Goldpaw, who invites her to sneak out of camp with her.
Bluepelt draws blood while training with Crocuspaw. Bluepelt asks him if he will go and cry to his mother or if he will fight. Crocuspaw hesitates, thinking of all the times his parents and Clanmates told him to be extra careful because he won't feel the cuts.
Because of his hesitation, Bluepelt says that maybe everyone is right about Crocuspaw, and he should quit trying to be a warrior. Crocuspaw determinedly chooses to fight. When they are done, Bluepelt smiles proudly and tells Crocuspaw that he did great. It won't be long before he proves everyone wrong.
Hurt and exhausted, Crocuspaw couldn't feel better.
Hush tells Crocuspaw that he'll always be his baby to him.
Gust checks Crocuspaw over to make sure he's okay after his rough training session.
Crocuspaw can't help but feel babied.
Hush tells Crocuspaw to take it easy after hearing of how hard she had been working.
Gust grabs a mouse from the fresh-kill pile for Crocuspaw.

Bluepelt forces Crocuspaw to keep training even after Goldpaw finished. Crocuspaw tries to perfect the same move over and over, but can't get it.
Crocuspaw realizes she and Goldpaw have a similar sense of humour.
Fringespots threatens to give Crocuspaw a terrible name.
Crocuspaw breaks down after failing to finish a move he should have perfected. He wonders out loud if he's really meant to be a warrior, everyone's whispers getting to him. Bluepelt bristles and snarls that that is weakness. He tells Crocuspaw to stop crying and get back to training because tears won't solve anything.
Bluepelt scolds Crocuspaw for sleeping in when he was supposed to be on the dawn patrol.
Frozenfur suggests that Crocuspaw should put more effort into training. Crocuspaw can't help but resent that...he's exhausted day in and day out, constantly sore with how hard she's pushed. Can't he see? Can't anyone?
Crocuspaw offered to show Hickory--a new Clanmate--around, but cats tell her Hickory should have someone that can actually get around--as if Crocuspaw couldn't!
Crocuspaw has gotten an infection.
Gust brings Crocuspaw his favourite prey and the softest moss, fussing and fussing.
Crocuspaw overhears Bluepelt defending Crocuspaw.
Specklestar and Bluepelt often smile knowingly about something.
Bluepelt checks in on Crocuspaw in the medicine den and confidently tells her that she'll be back on her paws before she knows it. It feels a lot better than the fussing of Gust and Hush or the silent pity of other Clanmates.
