About the Kallura hug scene: I also think Keith was sympathizing with Allura. It's kind of a silly comparison, but Keith reacts very differently to Lance's disdain for him than Allura's. Allura's hatred(?) for him genuinely bothers him, I think bc he understands where it comes from. He often uses anger as a cover for other emotions, but with Allura he can't, bc how can he when she's lost so much?
THIS IS A GREAT POINT, I DIDNāT THINK OF THAT.
Like, in other situations, Keith doesnāt seem to care if people donāt like him. He sort of shrugs it off, no big deal. Heās very independent anyway. But with Allura? Oh boy.
Keith knows Alluraās hatred is something sheās clinging to because of what the Galra have done. In fact, Alluraās world is rather black and white, at this point: To her, the Alteans are good, the Galra are bad, and thatās the only thing that makes sense to her anymore, after sheās lost her father and 10,000 years have slipped by. And Keith is so genuinely bothered because he knows this. Heās already so shaken up by the discovery concerning his bloodline, and now he has to lose Alluraās trust. And, like you said, he canāt just be mad at her to defend himself, because he can see how painful this is for her.
I donāt think this is a silly comparison at all! It shows SO MUCH about Keithās nature and how he deals with conflict. Thank you so much for bringing this up!
