book survey: odd numbers from 45-55 :)
Anonymous said: 1, 7, 16, 22, 39, 40, 42, 47, 51, 55Ā
(I just put these all into one post!)
āØ1. Favorite childhood book? TheĀ Animorphs series by K.A. Applegate. I canāt say enough good things about these books. I think I started reading these in third or fourth grade. Iām still re-reading them now.Ā
7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once? One book at a time, with the exception of when I had books to read for class and needed a for fun book. Occasionally, I will pick up two books at the same time if Iām struggling through one.
āØ16. Do you ever dog-ear books?⨠I used to with my older books but now I prefer bookmarks, and sticky notes if I want to mark something important.
22. Favorite genre?⨠Adventure/fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction. I canāt pick just one!
āØ39. Favorite fictional villain?⨠Iām a big fan of Villains Who Arenāt Actually Villains. Luke Castellan and Cersei Lannister.
40. Books Iām most likely to bring on vacation?⨠pretty much anything Iām reading at the moment, but if Iām in a fix for something to read I go for either Harry Potter or Percy Jackson.
42. Name a book that you could/would not finish. It is very rarely that I stop reading a book, even if I hate where the story is going/the message it is sending. I always feel like I have to at least finish a book before I judge it (why I read all four Twilight books). So if thereās a book I havenāt finished it is usually because Iām having a hard time staying focused on the writing. I am ashamed to say Iāve been stuck halfway throughĀ Team of RivalsĀ for a while now. But I WILL FINISH IT SOMEDAY.
āØ45. Most disappointing film adaptation? Iād tell you, but we donāt speak about it (The Lightning Thief).
āØ47. How often do you skim a book before reading it? I sometimes flip to a random page and read a paragraph just to get a feel for the writing style, but other than that, never.
āØ49. Do you like to keep your books organized?⨠I try. I have shelves dedicated solely to YA Dystopian, Fantasy,Ā Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings, and books about the Civil War, and then a couple āeverything elseā shelves.
51. Are there any books youāve been avoiding?⨠Avoiding because Iāve read reviews that make me think I will hate it but still feel like I should find out what all the hype is aboutĀ : Fifty Shades of Grey.Ā Avoiding because I am intimidated by it:Ā The SilmarillionĀ (HOWEVER I have started it and if I read in small amounts I find I can enjoy it)
53. A book you didnāt expect to like but did?⨠I am going to get so much crap for admitting this, but when Harry Potter was The Cool New Thing back in elementary school, my mom tried to get me to read it so many times and I flat out refused. I had zero interest. Books Everyone Else Was Reading were not for me. Then one summer I ran out of things to read and grudgingly picked up Harry and fell in love and never looked back.Ā
āØ55. Favorite guilt-free, pleasure reading?Ā sometimes I just need a feel-good book like Fangirl.
