Turning tail had not been optional as it would've meant allowing a student from her own school to be harassed by uncouth youth from a different one.
Blows were traded after a simple remark on the cowardice that came with using overwhelming numbers advantageously rather than confront another alone. Strenuous it had been to emerge victorious, but victorious she had been, the expected injuries littering her frame regarded as necessary battle scars. It was actually astounding how few had actually been received, an obvious result of how often fights of this nature came about, most concealed beneath a bulky sweatshirt donned beforehand.

Inflamed flesh stretched taunt as digits brought a hood upwards to obscure features as much as possible, the bruises blossoming vividly upon them inconsequential in comparison to those that spread upon the length of her torso. Out of sight, out of mind. For this to suffice in shirking off the inquisitive scrutiny would be miraculous, if anything. Still, it was all that could be managed at present.
