Genuine question why did you make splinter abusive? He's not a bad parent in canon, and I'm it's a au, but he still a good dad :(
Splinter is a good dad in canon! Not the best, but he has so much love for his sons, and I know that.
However I wanted to make an alternate universe where I take Splinter’s trauma and turn the reaction up to 100 because THAT GUY LITERALLY GETS PUT THROUGH HELL 😭 I also wanted to push the whole ‘Leo and Splinter are very much alike becuz that’s one of my fave parallels from the idw series
I also want to put a disclaimer out there: Bloodbath!Splinter’s writing is inspired by my own experiences growing up in an abusive household. As a viewer of the show I very much relate to Splinter’s struggle with letting go of his glory days and healing from his losses. I need it to be known I LOVE SPLINTER AS A CHARACTER AND IM NOT MAKING HIM EVIL BECAUSE I HATE HIM I SWEAR
