When he heard rumors of some mirage Pokemon that could take the appearance of a human, being the adventurous soul he was, Kyouhei ventured to the outskirts of Nimbasa City towards Lostlorn Forest. The rumors of the mysterious Pokemon weren't the only rumors to surround the forest. Kyouhei had also heard warnings about how easy this place was to get lost in, hence its name, and how easy it was to get lost to the point of being stranded.
Still, Kyouhei jumped right into the adventure. He expected the forest to be swarming with grass or bug type Pokemon. Even if he did get lost, he wouldn't have to worry about being attacked by wild Pokemon in addition; his two fire-types would aid him.
Kyouhei found no signs of the rumored Pokemon, only some Swadloon and Cottonee, and a Ranger he beat easily. He should have believed that the rumors he heard were false, but chose to cling to the hope that he didn't venture further enough. Only if he ventured into, what seems to be, the heart of the forest and found nothing, he would give up his search and call it a day.
"Hi, Trainer!" The voice of a backpacker he passed in the clearing called to him. Kyouhei turned his attention to the man as he continued. "You have a Pokedex, I see. I'm a traveler. I enjoy trekking around the world and talking with various people. By the way, do you a Pokemon called Zoroark?"
He knew about it, vaguely; he knew that it was an Illusion Fox Pokemon, but that was it. But was Zoroark the Pokemon the rumors had mentioned? No name was given, but it seemed to fit the description.
"Great!" The backpacker snapped Kyouhei out of his reverie. "Are you armed with knowledge so it won't trick you? It's your choice to trust it and be tricked, or to live in doubt. I enjoyed talking with you. This is a small present."
The backpacker presented a disc to him - a TM.
"They say Zoroark settled in around here about two years ago," the backpacker continued. "It changed the appearance of this grassland with its Illusion Ability and tricked people and Pokemon. It's an outrageous rumor, but a rumor has some truth in it. Every rumor has a kernel of truth to it."
As the backpacker began to leave, Kyouhei spoke out, "So does that mean Zoroark is the Pokemon that the rumors of this place was about?!"
The backpacker turned to give the brunette a glance and a smile, before turning back to leave. As he did, the space around the backpacker began to distort and fade before a new figure stood in the man's place.
It was human height, bipedal, and resembled a fox with black fur and a long red mane. The beast snickered.
He definitely did not expect that, but didn't ponder on the surprise for long. In an instant, it became a chase. Kyouhei had leaped after the Pokemon. Unfortunately, Zoroark proved to be too fast and escaped into the woods with Kyouhei following. Only when he saw nothing but trees did Kyouhei stop to realize the situation he was in.
He was lost in Lostlorn Forest, and because he was so fixated on catching up to the Pokemon, he didn't know what path he took to get this far in.
He definitely had better days.
Turning around, Kyouhei approached the bushes and thought to at least try and find any foot prints he could have left behind. However, the bushes began to rustle and the trainer instinctively jumped back, his hand reaching for one of his Pokeballs.
