The details: I wasn’t getting the effect I wanted in one shot so this is actually two separate photos overlaid in Photoshop. I took a picture of the twinkle lights in Bulb mode with about a 3 second exposure. In the second shot I light painted the headless angel to give the spotlight effect. Just a quick burst of light from a flashlight fitted with a snoot did the trick. I layered the twinkle lights atop the angel in Photoshop with this being the final result.

When he first felt the wolf clawing in desperation to break free, Fylkir had hailed a cab. It was dangerous to enclose himself with another human, but he knew he had to put as much distance between himself and civilization lest anyone --himself included, lose their life. He barely had the constraint to pay the cabby when he told him suddenly to stop at the side of the road. He staggered into the trees, and there he shed his human skin. He had long since learned to remove his clothes when this feeling came on, and as soon as foliage hid him ripped off his shirt before collapsing. He managed to struggle out of his pants just before the coarse hair sprung through his skin and his bones shifted, grotesquely forming another shape. The clothes were left by a recognizable tree, and the wolf was driven into the wilderness. Although in this form he retained his sentience, there was an animal drive that easily overpowered it. He was hungry, but he was new to this form. He had yet to catch anything, despite having tried numerous times with woodland creatures. It didn't stop him trying. Fylkir trotted ahead, putting his nose against the ground. Wet nostrils flared, suction jerking leaves off the ground before he tread on them with his large, black paws. Although enormous compared with the average wolf, he was a lean beast and barely made a sound.
