I may have forgotten... to update y'all that Harper fell in love with Matt-

And all it took was a Serverblight Tomodachi Life save and the rest is history. Lore wise, I would like to imagine Harper meets Matt in a semi-assimilated server. Seeing as Harper can't see the blighted players as monsters due to her Pyrovision goggles, she sees an un-assimilated Matt in an open section of the map. Matt is confused, Harper doesn't seem scared with the chaos that's around them but knowing she's still capable of escaping, he urges her to the death zones. Harper tried to take Matt with her, but alas, his body belongs to the blight and it stops him from jumping with her. Matt wishes to never see that Pyro again, but something inside him yearns for more. Harper can't see the monster that he's become so maybe he can keep this facade up a little longer?

Their whole thing is that Harper doesn't know Matt is assimilated, she doesn't know that Matt can hurt people and hurt her. Matt doesn't want to hurt her either but the Serverblight can take full hold of him again at any moment.

I have no idea if the numbers were good enough to warrant a second series.  Graham and Pharaoh are always going to run the risk of being judged more harshly for their writing because, hell, these are the guys who made “Life on Mars.”  You can hear them a mile away; their dialogue betrays them as much as Moffat’s or Whithouse’s.  We know they’re great writers with great ideas, and thus we expect their absolute best from them constantly.  There are plenty of other writers we do that to — and yes, we tear into them when they give us something quite good rather than earth-shattering.  This isn’t me being an apologist; it’s an Anglophile quirk, and one I was plenty guilty of during this viewing.
