Claus...did not like this place.
It reminded him far too much of a location he had seen once in the past, one he had both passed and been dragged to. A building full of big, noisy machines which blared with all kinds of dings, chimes, and musical cues. Machines which flashed with multicolored lights and chaotic visuals.
An arcade, is what it was called.
Only a few times had Claus ever played those machines, always at the behest of a robot in the shape of a child urging him to go ahead and try to beat his high score. Go on. Try your best. I'm sure you can't. You've got bolts for brains.
Unpleasant was putting it mildly.
But, Claus couldn't leave a single place unsearched. They were a form of entertainment, something to draw people in. And, compared to everything else from where he came from, these type of machines were far more harmless than anything else in that wretched place. People would flock there, enjoy the machines, so...maybe...
Claus wove between the machines, past those who played them, only giving them a glance to check and see if they were who he was looking for before continuing onward. The more he looked the more strange things he found, more games of varying shapes and sizes and designs. Some of which held no screens at all and were fully functional! He wasn't sure if he'd ever seen so many in his life.
It...was starting to get to him though. All of it.
So, he gravitated toward those games, at least while he attempted to regain his wits about himself. Gloved hands rubbed at his eyes, his blue eye already stinging from all of the light.
After he lifted his head, he noticed one of the screen-less games being played. In fact, there didn't seem to be a screen at all. It looked like a...box. Filled with stuffed animals. At first he watched from afar as what looked like an incredibly simplified crane arm lowered into the stash of stuffed animals and lifted one up....juuuust for it to release the plush back into the mountain.
....what?
What was the purpose of a game like that?
Curiosity taking hold, Claus walked over. A...green...teal(???? it was hard to tell in this light) haired person was playing the game. Out of curiosity, he stood beside the stranger, watching the claw lower again. This time, nothing was grabbed. The claw simply rose with nothing in its grasp before returning to its starting position.
A starting position overtop a chute, he now saw.
What a weird game...was the goal to get the plush toy in the chute..?
