Looking for some help, under a cut
I’m in a bit of a puzzle regarding blender 3.0′s method of texturing.
Currently I’m trying to get a basic texture on my recent project and unfortunately, it seems like the texture does not want to show up on the model in the material preview.
It has been properly unwrapped, I used nodes, but the texture is not showing up on this file.
However, my previous project has no trouble displaying textures as I apply them. Given that my Falgyrac model was made in 2.93 LTS and then imported into version 3, it might just have carried over the competence of the older program in terms of how everything sort of links together.
I am uncertain if this is a matter of some form of file corruption, or if it has to do with the program. I tried testing with a new file with a default cube, and the results are the same. The texture refuses to show up in the material preview.
The texture does not show up on the model when using a node. Oddly, when I do texture without using nodes, it shows up just fine. The only time the texture shows up is when I use the cycles render viewport, while 3.0′s render system is very nice, I don’t like making my computer sit in the cycles engine for long periods of time just to get around the issues with the material preview due to the effort it asks of my machine.
There have been other strange things going on with version 3 for me currently that have not shown up in the past, but while I managed to sort of kludge my way around the other problems, this one is actively keeping me from finishing up a project.
I have tried using windows’ repair function, and I have reinstalled the program twice. I did try importing the model from 3 to 2.93 LTS, but it screws up the interface and makes it difficult to navigate, also the data loss warnings from putting a newer file in an older program. Though I can sort of get around that by copying the model and rig to the clip board and pasting into a new file, most data loss seems to be rigging related, from what I can tell from experimenting with Falgyac’s model. I also have gone back to basics in trying to find tutorials to see if I just screwed up how to texture, but I have not found anything that helps with this particular case.
If anyone is more savvy with this than I am, I would appreciate the help.
I am having the worst time with weights someone end me 😂
Crying violently while trying to understand blender fuck man I knew I was too stupid for this shit. Imma try again later
