Anyways @bleedingheart-bat
They were just grocery shopping, after a pretty late night of preparing suits for an upcoming eccentric gala. They were in the produce isle of the grocery store, then Next thing, they were prone, amongst concrete rubble and steel, with a bar of rebar stuck in their back, shooting the worst pain they’ve ever experienced in their system.
And then, something just let’s go.
The first sensation was warmth, surrounding them at all sides. Then lazily their eyes open. They knew this place well, the hearth, the home. The massive clay and tile oven was crackling away, the bed atop it heated by its warmth. They lazily shove off the blankets and various furs atop them, searching.
“Moonbeam, you’re awake.” They knew that voice. “I am sorry to bother you like this.”
“Wha-you?” They ask, still unable to shake sleep. “I thought you left me.”
“I am so sorry Hazel. I never wanted you to feel that way. I had a favor to repay.” The outsider is gently guiding them off the ovens bed, down the clay sculpted stairs. “But now is not the time. Hazel, you were born for greatness. Now is your time.”
“You’re not yet done, when you are I will allow you to stay.”
“I will be right here, moonbeam.” He pushes her out the door.
Then she wakes up, that spear of broken rebar embedded in her upper ribbcage, in the worst pain of her life. There’s sound muffled underneath the rubble and it shifts a little, her small pocket of space collapsing slightly. She knows she has to move, bloodied palms pushing forward but the rebar moved and another ping of pain shoots through her nervous system. They swear under their breath and continued pushing through until it’s out.
“Is there anyone in there?” she can hear a rescuer shout
“I’m here!!” Moving to get up on her knees she moves to push on the rubble above her trying to see how deep she was down. “I’m here!” Her voice is dying but she repeats again.
